The Novo Nordisk 5-story headquarters in Princeton, NJ anticipates growth despite the economic woes. A $20 million expansion was recently completed. It features an impressive display of architectural flat glass including 141 all glass sliding doors and 12 all glass swing doors for the conference room and stylish new main entrance. The doors and glass were fabricated by JE Berkowitz of Pedricktown, NJ.
Awarded by Fortune Magazine in 2008 as “One of the Best Companies to Work For”, the thriving healthcare facility specializes in diabetes control. The expansion accommodates up to 400 employees and includes a 100-person training facility. The headquarters was designed to celebrate the Danish architectural style of their heritage. The architect, Kling Stubbins, designed the interior to employ LEED principals. The building takes full advantage of natural lighting and sustainable materials. Recycled and environmentally friendly products were considered in every detail, even the furniture.
JE Berkowitz worked closely with glazing contractor Rabinowitz Glass of Philadelphia, to fabricate the 141 DORMA Agile 150 top hung sliding glass doors, with ½” tempered clear glass. Dorma’s sleek AG 150 slide hardware, along with a hook lock center housing in a clear anodized finish, was selected for the doors. This door style was chosen to ensure effortless operation, while concealing the operating mechanism to create a minimalistic appearance. The twelve (12) ½ clear tempered all glass conference room swing entrance doors consisted of Doralco 4” square top and bottom style doors with Dorma RTS 88 concealed overhead closers and Rockwood RM 3301 (48” back to back and RM 412) push/pulls, all in a satin stainless steel finish.
"We were given an agressive time schedule for this project. We worked together with JEB to make sure we met the deadline on time and delivered an excellent product," said Rob Zeigler of Rabinowitz Glass.
