JE Berkowitz, LP (JEB) announces that it has awarded Ray Angelini, Inc. (RAI) a contract to install a solar panel roof system in Pedricktown, New Jersey.  The solar engineering firm is midway through the process of installing 7,200 USA manufactured solar panels, covering the expanse of its 180,000 SF plant roof.  The new solar array is expected to produce more than 2 million kilowatt hours of electricity per year and save approximately 25% of the manufacturing plant’s electric power expense annually.

The project is funded by a combination of resources from several institutions and agencies, including a grant from the Federal Government through the American Recovery Act program.  JEB is also working with the State of New Jersey on the sale or trade of Solar Renewal Energy Certificates--the`S-RECs’ program.  In addition, Citizens Bank has committed to provide financing for the remainder of the project.

RAI has successfully completed many solar projects. “Among our gamut of solar projects is the Atlantic City Convention Center Solar Array—the largest single-roof power array installation in the country at the time of completion in December 2008,” said Ray Angelini, President, RAI. “We are very pleased to be chosen by the Berkowitz family to help them achieve their environmental and energy cost reduction goals,” added Angelini.
